Last November (2021), we were presented with the opportunity to schedule a visit to the HQ of U-Boat Worx in Breda (the Netherlands). As you may be aware, we dedicate a lot of our time creating exceptional yacht expeditions to the most extraordinary and remote destinations around the world. With these amazing adventures we provide submersible services, and as an official Partner of U-Boat Worx, we can provide the most modern and advanced submersibles on the market.
U-Boat Worx submarines are without a doubt the pioneer in every aspect of underwater exploration. Since its inception, U-Boat Worx has defined the standards to create exceptional submersibles. Each submarine is handcrafted and overseen by their own in-house experts to ensure every detail is perfect. It was the dream of Bert Houtmanto create submersibles that offer the best dive experience, a dream that has come true and continues to deliver excellence.
Each U-Boat Worx submarine is designed to provide unmatched comfort, space, and style. All their submarines have maximum legroom and headroom while keeping overall weight and size to a minimum. This combination delivers the ultimate diving experience. When embarking on the Cruise Sub’s, in the manufacturing line, it is directly noticed the ease of boarding and disembarking. Being placed in one of the acrylic hulls - keep in mind that this model fits 9 passengers, including the pilot - the clear view was truly impressive, every equipment and component is strategically placed, and the combination of the efficient air conditioning for comfort and the surround music transforms this experience into a 360º live-theatre.
Complete flexibility and omni-directional movement are the hallmarks of U-Boat Worx submersibles. They are truly ideal for wreck diving and discovering the most challenging waters. Their submersibles intelligently designed thruster configurations optimise manoeuvrability with maximum capability. Advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics are used to streamline the hull to maximise the efficiency and decrease drag giving the appropriate power settings to counteract all conditions of tide and current.
What makes them even more impressive is that their submersibles can perform a minimum of 8 dives per day without refilling, and some models can do up to 12 dives without refilling. Due to their abundant oxygen capacity, large Carbon Dioxide filters and high-capacity battery systems they can perform up to 18 hours operation. To have a submersible to your disposal during your yacht adventure is indispensable. With a submersible onboard we make sure to design the sailing route along breathtaking diving sites to experience magical moments while exploring the underwater world.
