The Numinous

The Numinous

This English word “numinous” could appropriately be used to describe the Hang Son Doong Cave, diving between the migrating humpback whales near Tonga or a life-changing family voyage through the islands of Raja Ampat. Something numinous is awe-inspiring and mysterious. It is difficult to understand from a rational perspective, which gives it a spiritual or unearthly quality.

The Numinous is our online column, where we will keep you closely updated about our personal travel stories and tips. It will be all about sharing our passion for adventure, responsible travelling and conservation, exploring destinations combined with exceptional experiences. We will interview true pioneers in our industry, how they perform in these extreme environments. Get ready to discover our beautiful planet through the eyes of V&J.

We only know a tiny proportion about the complexity of the natural world. Wherever you look, there are still things we don’t know about and don’t understand. There are always new things to find out if you go looking for them.
